The Department of Immunology stands in solidarity with the larger Harvard Medical School (HMS) community in our pledge to uphold the tenets of the HMS Diversity Statement. We are committed to diversity, equality, inclusion, and belonging on our campus and in our labs. We actively seek opportunities to increase diversity in our department and to promote a supportive, inclusive environment.
We proudly support the following organizations:
Health Professions Recruitment & Exposure Program at Harvard Medical School (HPREP) |
Diversity at HMS
Harvard Medical School strives to cultivate an environment that promotes inclusiveness and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff and to create new avenues for discussion that will advance our shared mission to improve the health of people throughout the world. Our Diversity Statement confirms our commitment to nurturing a diverse community and our Resources for Racial and Social Justice and Better Together Plan translate our values into actions.
Diversity in the PhD Program in Immunology
The Immunology Ph.D. program strives to be an inclusive and welcoming community consistently aiming to recruit and nurture students from diverse backgrounds In the past five years, we have tripled our average enrollment rates of underrepresented minority students in the Immunology Ph.D. program. We aim to continue to grow these numbers. We include diversity training programs in our student orientation events and are increasing training resources available to our faculty and for holistic graduate school application review processes.
