  2. FACSAria for high-speed cell sorting (5 lasers UV-V-B-Y-R, 15 fluorescent detectors)
  3. Cytek Aurora Spectral Sorter (5 laser UV-V-B-Y-R, 64 total detectors - 40 color capable) and is housed in a biosafety cabinet
  4. S8 Imaging Sorter (5 laser UV-V-B-Y-R, 78 total detectors - 40 color capable) and is housed in a biosafety cabinet

Analyzers

For self-run flow cytometery.

These machines typically require a 1-2 hour long training before new users are ready to run flow.

The BD LSRII is a 4 laser system (405, 488, 561 & 637 nm) with 13 fluorescent detectors.  

Runs 5ml polystyrene tubes or a HTS unit can be attached allowing the use of various 96 or 384 well plates.

Symphony A1

The BD Symphony A1 is a 4 laser system (405, 488, 561 & 637 nm) with 16 fluorescent detectors.  

Runs 5ml polystyrene tubes or a HTS unit is attached allowing the use of various 96 or 384 well plates.

The BD Symphony A3 is a 5 laser system (355, 405, 488, 561 & 637 nm) with 23 fluorescent detectors.

The BD Symphony A5 is a 5 laser system (355, 405, 488, 561 & 637 nm) with 28 fluorescent detectors.

Penteon

Penteon

The Agilent Penteon is a 5 laser system (349, 405, 488, 561 & 637 nm) with 30 fluorescent detectors.  

An attached plate loader accommodates various plates (including deep well) and tubes (1.5 and 5ml 40 tube racks).

Aurora

Aurora Spectral Analyzer

The Cytek Aurora is a 5 laser spectral analyzer (355, 405, 488, 561 & 640 nm) with 64 total detectors (40 color panel).  

Runs 5ml tubes or an attached plate loader accommodates various plates.

Sorters

For staff-run or self-run cell sorting.

These machines can be booked by anyone for staff-run sorting, five days a week.

Sorter training is available for self-use by may require several training sessions.

Aria II (594)

Aria II (594)

A 4 laser system with 12 fluorescent detectors and 4 way and plate sorting capability.  Has 405 nm, 488 nm, 594 nm, and 633 nm lasers.  

For 4-way sorting, 1.5 ml or 5 ml tubes can be used while 2-way sorting can accommodate 15 ml tubes.  Multi-well plates (6, 24, 96, or 384) with index sorting is also available.  Sample and collection block can be chilled or warmed.  

Available nozzle sizes include; 70, 85, 100 and 130 µm.  Researchers who have completed BD analyzer training can be trained to self-sort on the Aria, if desired.

Aria II

A 5 laser system with 15 fluorescent detectors and 4 way and plate sorting capability.  Has 355, 405, 488, 561, and 635 lasers.  

For 4-way sorting, 1.5 ml or 5 ml tubes can be used while 2-way sorting can accommodate 15 ml tubes.  Multi-well plates (6, 24, 96, or 384) with index sorting is also available.  Sample can be chilled or warmed during the sort. 

Available nozzle sizes include; 70, 85, 100 and 130 µm.  Researchers who have completed BD analyzer training can be trained to self-sort on the Aria, if desired.

Aurora CS

Aurora CS

The Cytek Aurora CS is a 5 laser spectral sorter (355, 405, 488, 561 & 640 nm) with 61 fluorescent detectors (40 color panel).  

For 6-way sorting, 1.5ml tubes can be used while 5ml tubes can be used for 4-way sorting and 15ml tubes can be used for 2-way sorting.  96-well plates with index sorting is also available.  The sample can be warmed or cooled during sorting.

The BD S8 is a 5 laser imaging/spectral sorter (355, 405, 488, 561 & 640 nm) with 78 fluorescent detectors (40 color panel).  The 488nm laser has three fluorescent detectors as well as side-scatter, forward-scatter and lightloss.

For 6-way sorting, 1.5ml or 5ml tubes can be used. 15ml tubes can be used for 2-way sorting. There is also an non-uniform tube holder. 96-well plates with index sorting is also available.  The sample can be cooled during sorting.
